PRESS: Govt to study tax burden on mining, processing firms
MOSCOW, Oct 26 (PRIME) -- Russian government officials plan to study a tax burden on mining and processing industries, business daily Vedomosti reported Friday citing participants of the meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak.
Oil companies pay higher mineral extraction tax (MET) than coal and potash companies, and this is not quite fair, one of the participants of the meeting said. Tax burden on these two industries may grow, but it is necessary to analyze it first, an official of the government’s financial and economic block said. He said Kozak proposed to study the balance of the tax burden and submit results by March 2019.
